Bonnie Ryerson is an award-winning director, acting coach, and educator with over 30 years of experience training performers for stage, film, and television.

Throughout her career, Bonnie has guided young actors from their very first auditions to professional and collegiate success. Her students have gone on to perform on Broadway, in National Tours, and in Film & Television, and she is widely respected for her ability to blend strong acting technique with practical, real-world audition training.

Bonnie is especially known for her work in self-tape auditions, helping actors confidently navigate today’s digital casting landscape. She provides clear guidance on audition setup, industry expectations, and performance choices, ensuring actors submit work that feels authentic, grounded, and competitive.

In addition to professional audition coaching, Bonnie offers college and conservatory preparation, working closely with students on monologues, prescreens, interviews, and confidence-building. Her students have been accepted to highly regarded programs including Marymount Manhattan College, NYU Tisch Drama, Pace University, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Emerson College, and the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities.

Bonnie is now also teaching adults, including those returning to acting, preparing for local or regional theater, or pursuing film and television opportunities later in life. She brings the same clarity, encouragement, and professional standards to adult actors as she does to her youth and college-bound students.

Coaching is available in person in South Carolina and virtually nationwide.

Fun fact: Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things) began his acting journey studying with Bonnie at her Pied Piper Youth Theater.
